The US Defense Secretary gave immediate approval for this publicly, as did President Biden when asked, but then the idea was dropped. A story was discussed on the news just recently, that Vice President Kamala Harris was to announce US approval and support for this military aid on her recent trip to Poland, but Biden changed his mind at the last minute, so that was not brought up during her visit, leaving her without a diplomatic issue to comment on.
