You are seeing intuitively, there is something not right here, and you are correct, the whole idea of Ascension is to raise people up, not separate them from friends, compatriots, and loved ones through arbitrary rules and constraints based on age limits or blood relations. There are many people who live at significant distances from parents and other relatives, so Ascension could not take place unless people could do this more on their own or in the company of those close to them regardless of bloodline. In the case of children, it is appropriate for them to be accompanied and led, in actuality, by caregivers, regardless of the lineage. The point is to have the process of upliftment commence and continue uninterrupted for a successful transition to a higher plane of existence. In practice, people will not want to leave children behind, for example, whether their own or those who may have been adopted or come into their lives as stepchildren. And, as you know, love is genuine and does not depend on lineage per se but many other factors. People care, many times, as much or more about close friends than blood relatives for a variety of reasons. There are many factors in play in preparing for Ascension, and to some extent, it will be governed by the need to be with others to share the experience as far as the timing is concerned. But people will not be excluded arbitrarily by the circumstances you describe.
