The issue you found so intriguing is that the act of writing and, in fact, other forms of creativity whether artistic, scientific, or simply a practical need for ingenuity, are serviced by all of the soul’s potential and it’s accrued learning over many, many lifetimes. When there is a desire by a creative impulse to serve a need, and there is a divine connection, there can be quite a degree of inspiration brought to bear to help that individual achieve their dreams. If they are not connected to the divine and in partnership by requesting help and then being open and feeling worthy of divine assistance, they will be truly on their own and will be much more limited in what they can accomplish. They will be subject to the constraints of their own inner creativity based on only what they have learned so far in the current life, for the most part, as well as some intuitive inklings from reaching out to the collective unconscious. But the latter is limited by what is in that pool of awareness, which consists largely of the recent thoughts of those in the living. So it will be limited by the state-of-the-art currently, the current knowledge base, and not the entirety of possibilities represented by the collective works of humanity through all of time. The latter are present within the akashic records. If the person can connect to the akashic records, they will largely see their own history and not that of others but it will be quite limited, nonetheless. It takes quite a concentrated focus to make deliberate forays to see what might be there and especially what might be relevant to a particular initiative when one is seeking a new approach. When working with the divine realm, we have a much greater ability to look at the sum total of a person’s experience and knowledge base and can simply help to re-awake and what a person has created, experienced, or witnessed anywhere along the path that might be relevant to the current need, and in this way prior gains can be capitalized on, by repurposing the information to serve a current need. So, the example you heard from that higher self was of the writer who can be given the assistance of higher self to have an inner awareness through their own thoughts be gifted to them of prior creations, and because there are only so many plot lines, so many plot devices, that occur over, and over, and over again in life, those common elements can be pointed out for the writer by divine realm in answer to an inner questing for inspiration, to think of a new storyline, or propose the right characters and their attributes, to carry a story forward in a most powerful way. Those inspirations that come to assist the requests of a person in the physical wanting to write something new will often draw first from that individual’s own knowledge base. That is fair game because they have already earned the access through their life experience. So, if it has been shown to them it, in a sense, can be re-worked and reused by them in the sharing common to the circle of humanity where all are in this together and there is an interplay that is quite active. And that is the reason for the collective unconscious to begin with and the way the totality of human knowledge and awareness is designed to benefit all. Because anyone can tune in to see what might be in the pool of thought, it has many advantages, and one of these is to support innovation and to share novel ideas to advance the whole by making individual contributions available for sharing with others, even among people who will otherwise never meet or have an exchange of ideas, directly. A person’s past and parallel life experiences represent many, many lifetimes of rich experience that can be mined for interesting material of all kinds that can lead to new inventions as well as artistic contributions. The divine realm can help the recollection of these in response to requests for assistance. Those who are the most ingenious are almost always taking full advantage of an ability to connect to the collective unconscious as well as the inner archives in the akashic records of their past talents and accomplishments. This can be further amplified by divine realm, following their lead, to ensure it is done to best advantage. So this can be accentuated and will be highly successful in supporting all who desire assistance and are in divine alignment.
