DWQA QuestionsCategory: AngelsA practitioner asks: “Could we get a list of actual archangels who are authentic or at least a resource we can use to help ask them specifically in our prayers?”

If you go to historically accepted sources, the major archangels described down through the ages are authentic representations of actual beings responding to those names. Keep in mind that we follow intentions more than words, so if you have the intention in reaching out to a particular named archangel to carry out a request, the divine can use that intention to bring in with accuracy that specific being, and if there is a deception, may be able to override it and substitute an archangel matching the expected consequence of the request for assistance. That is still flirting with danger because for things more esoteric and for things where the origin might be corrupted to begin with, and a name representing a non-divine being masquerading as an archangel is given prominence and is believed in, it is an invitation, being based on a lie, to resurrect the lie and call forth an imposter to answer the call—that is why sticking with the tried and true would be safest and not to get too detailed. As we have said before, it is always highest and best to make an appeal to Creator directly. If you go directly to the Almighty, God will see to it that your request is put into the very best hands. If you appeal to an archangel by name, regardless of what has been requested, that archangel will be responsible for acting in response on behalf of the divine realm, and all others will be excluded because the human request was specific to that particular being alone. So there is a danger in compromising your reach, in going even to a favored archangel you believe in. For some who have a strong belief in a particular archangel having special capability to carry out a tough assignment, it may well increase the intention being held by the requester to maximize the power of that request, but it still will be the case that the intended target, as the divine emissary, will have to handle it, no matter what it might be, and will be on their own, and this leaves out the majority of the divine realm and its resources. This can be like a situation where you might be under invasion by a foreign army, but you are calling out for a lieutenant you met at a party, who you knew to be genuine and took a liking to and formed a friendship with, and so now you are asking that lieutenant to come and handle the invading force on your behalf—the divine will do its best to respond appropriately to your will, but that might be a lesser response because the request is constrained by you to begin with.
