Probably for as long as humanity has existed, people have been known to pray fervently for strength. How does the divine impart strength? Is it a form of healing?

Strength, whenever on display, is almost always in your world, a consequence of healing because all human beings have been involved in so many adverse events that much healing has been required to keep them going. And in fact, most are weakened tremendously compared to their true potential because healing heretofore has not been adequate to keep up with the mounting liabilities through karmic traumas happening over and over again. This is because you are in a dark world where evil is quite powerful and effective in controlling things. You are holding your own through divine grace and incurring many wounds in the bargain. This is a high price to pay for your participation, and this is why life is a sacrifice given for the betterment of the human family, to speed human progress. This is also why enlightenment is not simply acquisition of some refined esoteric and lofty knowledge—enlightenment is process of recovery from being wounded to once again come back into divine alignment. You have existed long before you chose to take part in the Divine Human Experiment in free will and free agency, so what is needed in life is not only strength but a regaining of strength over and over again to allow you to reenter the fray and continue your lightwork, to solve the problem of evil once and for all—that is your life purpose, the purpose for your creation to begin with, and the project and enterprise to which you are all devoted and making great sacrifices. Because it is far from easy, it is a tremendous lengthy struggle, seemingly against all odds at times, and will bring much suffering at times as well. You do it because you know when you are in the light what your future looks like and what it can be if you are successful in achieving this wonderous goal of conquering evil. So the battle is worth waging but much strength will be needed, so this is an appropriate commodity to seek, to safeguard, and to request divine assistance to replenish as needed, because you are not done yet. There is a final push needed to tip the balance in favor of human survival in the face of the evils subjugating you, so strength is needed more than ever.
