This is all very true because there is a cluster of symptoms that are not universally exhibited and these variations reflect underlying variations in the causal organism and its properties, so there are multiple culprits here that can produce similar symptoms and this will certainly compromise the ability to sort things out. There needs to be a broadening of awareness and understanding about the multiplicity of viral strains that have differing distributions, cellular targets, and consequences—even members of the same family of viruses genetically. This is why the many standard treatments for these disorders are so problematical because many end up compromising the immune system in some way or another and this is not only felt to be justified in keeping with the goal of fighting a serious disorder, but many times is considered to be a desirable aspect of the mode of action to dampen the immune system which is falsely believed to be attacking the body in some way causing an autoimmune response. In every case, this is false and a misunderstanding of what is truly taking place and is doubly tragic because some of these treatments will likely worsen things over the long-term.
