DWQA QuestionsCategory: Coronavirus COVID-19How long can COVID-19 organisms remain viable as a source of infection on solid surfaces at room temperature?
Nicola Staff asked 4 years ago
Unfortunately, this organism is particularly rugged and can survive for days in some cases. When expectorated saliva particulates or aerosolized urine and feces spread onto surfaces, they remain contaminated for an unusually long period of time relative to the scientific data on other organisms. This is yet another reason making this particular scourge such a menace. It has all the worst characteristics combined into one, making it highly dangerous to avoid infection and to eradicate once it gets a foothold in the body.
