DWQA QuestionsCategory: Spirit MeddlersAre her meditations or “talking to spirit all day every day” helping or hurting? What can we tell her?

We see nothing wrong with her practice, but would only advise her with a reminder that any meditation needs to be preceded by a prayer of protection to the divine realm, and to address the divine directly. She can call on the Almighty, she can call on her guides and guardians, but we recommend calling on us, either alone or with others as she chooses. That way, she is covered, she is not restricting the possible responses that can be brought to bear to help safeguard her. So we are simply letting her know she has a full array of choices here and need not feel too humble to avail herself of divine services. This is a birthright of all humans to request divine assistance at any time for any reason. We are always happy to help when asked and we honor those who do. Keep in mind it is important when talking to "spirit" to have the intention that it be a divine spirit. It is not much different than using the remote control on a television, where you might want a love story but simply entering the number of a different channel get a horror story instead. Everything flows from intentions, so holding a specific intention is quite important because it will be what defines the outcome. Many people have habits built over years of reaching out to beyond themselves without asking for divine protection and without addressing a divine source, but simply going out on an exploration, so to speak. This is a dangerous undertaking but it can lead to a habit of just asking for her "guidance" but without specifying who is to provide the guidance—that is the key difference. She can address "my higher self, my divine spirit guides, the Holy Father, or any religious figure she chooses. The key is to call us by name so the intention is clear."
