This indeed is a complication, at least potentially. Most people do not think deeply, as when adopting a child and not thinking through they are taking on a complete unknown with regard to their lineage, prior history, karmic makeup, and so on, but they are only doing it as, in a sense, a kind of companion during the incarnation and not merging karma directly through biology, so it is a little bit more removed, but yet there will be an intertwining of the destinies because of time spent together. They will indeed influence one another, parent and offspring, and will change one another’s destiny as a consequence, so it is always a solemn responsibility, obligation, and potential source of difficulty to have offspring whether biological or adopted. In the case of rearing a child using a sperm donor, for example, there can be psychological difficulties adjusting on the part of the parents, knowing their child is partly of their makeup and partly not.
In most cases, because of the power of love, they will grow to love their child just as deeply whether it is their particular biological progeny or partly from a donor and their biology is not directly linked. Over time, that usually makes no difference because people who want a child are prepared and yearning for the experience and will be every bit as loving to a child without this biologic connection, but there will be consequences karmically because they are bringing in a third party into the mix instead of just having the father and the mother and their karmic history and ancestral lineage plus the new arrival’s soul makeup. They will have their own karma impinging on the situation, but also karma from two additional parties—the sperm donor’s karma as well as the incoming soul’s karma to be a part of their lives. Each person in a family influences the others in significant ways, so these are factors to consider in any such arrangement.
We are not saying this should not be done, but we are answering your direct inquiries to understand the karmic forces at work and the potential complications that can ensue. In a sense, you are getting some unknown factors added to the mix. This is usually not of great consequence because everyone has unknowns in their past they are unaware of and there may be a quite troubled history of the new incoming soul destined to be with them and to which they agree, and this is for reasons of doing healing work to take on a tough challenge once again to right the wrongs of other lifetimes when things did not work out between parent and child. So there will often not be smooth sailing among family members and that is the reason why—it is prior karmic issues that are to be worked on. So to add into that a third party can be a significant further complication of things. There is healing work that can be done to minimize these influences when there is an awareness of these possibilities and access to the Lightworker Healing Protocol. Prayer work will help as well to minimize any adverse consequences of this kind of arrangement in using a sperm donor to effect a pregnancy for an infertile couple.
