Our client writes: “My question is this—why are some people not bothered by negative energies and interlopers and some are sensitive? I know we are a family of empaths, are we easy targets?”

The reality is that all people are bothered by spirit visitations and manipulations but it is the empaths who will be more sensitive and likely to know they are out and about and attempting to impinge on them to gain entrance. This is both a blessing and a curse, that such keen intuitive ability brings with it a downside that there are many unpleasant things to experience in the environment. It is not what it seems with the ordinary eyes and ears, there are many negative energies whizzing about and would-be attackers wanting to gain the upper hand. You can ask for extra protection to help keep these things at more of a distance, that is the best you can do. It is not appropriate to give up a strength because this can be unsettling and a source of fear, it would be preferable to work on the fear reaction and do some healing to dial back its intensity, knowing that just because you are sensing something, does not mean you are in danger nor that anything bad will, in fact, happen. There are many possible outcomes, but to stand strong and have a bubble of protection may still allow you to see and sense things, much as you are in a bathysphere lowered into the sea and can observe the great sea creatures like sharks circling about in curiosity. When there is a physical barrier you might feel quite safe. When there is the idea of protection, it will not have the great sense of reassurance even though it is very much real if requests to divine realm have been made. There is some learning and growth needed here to consolidate the expectations and process the true meaning of making a divine request, that you have the standing and you have the power to make great things happen, and safety can be one of them.
