The blessing of Holy water, as a sacred ritual, will confer positive qualities that go along with the water energetically wherever it goes. The intention is to create a conveyance of divine grace and that, in fact, will happen and take place as intended. The limitation is in what the actual intention is visualized to be, to what extent it might be a very general blessing with no particular goals in mind, or a deeper and more specific request for healing and protection, for example, that will also figure in greatly in what can happen from the application of Holy water prepared in this way. The intention imparted to the water is key. Whoever is doing it will determine the strength of the intention and the potential strength of the outcome that can be delivered.
The ability to deliver what is intended will be further governed by the recipient and their feelings of self-worth and alignment with the divine, and acceptance by the divine to be worthy of a divine intervention of this kind. That can be highly variable and is a weakness in most individuals because of the many, many years of inner discord, failings, and erosion of belief, not only in the divine but in the self, because of the difficulties and stresses of life causing feelings of diminishment and failure. So the anointing with Holy water can be very beneficial but is not a given because it is usually done as a patterned, repetitious physical act with little thought about the range of possibilities and specific applications and results desired to happen. This will limit greatly what the divine can do in response to these actions.
