This is, indeed, the order of things, although done in your vernacular more so than ours, to help bridge the gap, and also be in accord with prayers and historical references to the "Word" meaning "the word of God." Through history there has not been an appreciation of the fine points of consciousness and how it provides an interplay that is more mental than physical. So you are describing the sequence of cause and effect, first being Sound, then the Light, then Matter. Stating the first step as being Sound is a broad term that is truly describing intention, the intention of a being. When that intention is applied by the divine, including the divine human, that intention creates a powerful energy of consciousness and that is what is represented by the term "Light" because it is, indeed, a holy force. And this is why so much of divine handiwork is associated with light from the heavens, a brilliant glow, an aura of light around godly beings, and so forth. This, again, is another metaphorical representation rather than a literal one. Matter, as well, is simply a label, and in most common usage, glosses over the fact that matter is actually energy, but it is energy provided by the divine.
So you are truly in our playground and representing our handiwork in all respects, including your creative ability to make something new and bring it into being. This can only be done by humans on a modest scale, but that under-represents your true status and potential because as a light being you have far greater powers. And the same schema applies for acts of creation by light beings. The act of creation starts with intention, a kind of mental declaration, whether or not it is communicated to others as a vocal pronouncement, and then the focused launching of consciousness, thought of metaphorically as beaming light forth, and then the creation of matter as that consciousness impinges on the physical plane to give rise to the physical form of energy called forth from the quantum field.
