There are a number of reasons for this state of affairs. The first problem is that science, as a whole, rejects a priori, the possibility of a higher power that can be invoked through a silent entreaty, so they spend as much time designing experiments to avoid getting a positive result that would conflict with their reality being that they believe they are in a Godless universe. In addition to the reality that prayer will not provide a quick fix, and will often fail to come through in the length of time over which a clinical trial can be practically conducted, the whole of humanity is being subjugated and manipulated through mind control to disbelieve in spirituality, and the interest of scientists in such explorations is suppressed as well. So few investigators with funding and influence will take up such questions and devote serious effort for any length of time to do what might be successful in demonstrating a positive benefit of prayer given the many, many variables in any kind of human life circumstance.
