Their primary motivation is to seek personal power over others, being the only way they can achieve personal security. That is a dog-eat-dog existence quite empty in the absence of love. This is why you were created, to solve the problem of evil, being fresh from the light in comparison to the ancient civilizations of the extraterrestrial predators in your midst. You still have the capability to interact with us and summon our assistance, and have a desire for things to improve, and are capable of feeling compassion and even love for fellow beings as perverse and corrupt as the interlopers have become, because you can identify with anyone who suffers in knowing they are in the grip of something they cannot control and will ultimately pay a heavy price.
