DWQA QuestionsCategory: Subconscious MindIf a memory already corded to the mind is recalled consciously, why does it need to be reconsolidated, and what does that do?

The reconsolidation step is a normal and automatic process that takes place in response to the awakening of awareness to prior trauma. It is a natural housekeeping function, so that when attention is redirected to new business, there can be a kind of standing down by the mind and its workings. After all, it can only juggle so many things simultaneously, to keep them on the front burner, so to speak, and be poised to take action in some way or another. Given the potential large storehouse of trauma memories of all kinds from hundreds of lifetimes, it is not difficult to saturate and potentially overwhelm the mind with karmic burdens. So there is a need to take things at a certain pace and have a way to let go of them and have the intensity lessen on its own through neglect if not through a true healing resolution. That does not mean it will be gone forever, because anything that re-triggers that trauma will bring back a fresh round of symptoms. But for a time at least, there is an easing of things and the regaining of resources that can be applied to other business. So the reconsolidation is revenue-neutral with respect to any kind of healing gain. It simply acts to dim the signal from cordings that are present. If there is no change in meaning of the memories involved, there will be no change in the akashic records to result in a healing. It will only mean that after the review of the memory, it is being allowed to return to the back burner, out of sight and out of mind for a time.
