It will have somewhat varied effects depending on the implementation and the nature of a particular environment, as this will be highly variable with respect to intensity, points of focus, and so on. But as a general safety shield, the technology performs as claimed. This is one of the more effective among an array of choices. The key is the design more so than the price tag in judging potential benefits, and that will not be readily discernible to the consumer. It is not the only choice available.
