What took place was that your loyal companion sensed danger from that passerby because he was able to sense the presence of spirit attachments. And there was a particularly dark energy they were emanating at the time. This would be akin to someone walking by and perhaps staring at the dog and shouting in a menacing way, as perceived by the ordinary senses. This is not excusing a breach in accepted cultural norms that dogs are expected to behave and not attack other people when in polite company. The reality was, the company was not totally polite, but that, of course, is no defense in the ordinary world. So you can perhaps feel a little better that this was not intended to be mean or malevolent for no reason, and thus raise questions about your dog's sensibilities and trustworthiness. Now that you have witnessed this, you can see the wisdom of keeping your dog under close control around strangers, because this could well happen again, given so many people have attachments. For the most part, they are sensed, but just simply accepted as an aspect of the individual, just like humans might see a visible birth defect or impairment causing a limp or threatening body language, or even sense a dark mood and steer clear of someone they don't know. Many times, dark spirits are content to just harvest energy and will not be stirring up additional trouble necessarily, and so, are more a passive presence much of the time. What happened in this instance was the spirits were wanting to cause a ruckus and indeed did so, at least as witnessed by your trusty canine.
